Erica Carter, LPCC

Profile pic 12.30
Erica Carter believes that each person has a story. Every story is valuable. Some stories are told in public with pride and fanfare, and others are held in private and sometimes never told, even as they affect what makes you who you are, or who you want to become. Sometimes difficulties, trauma, or setbacks that you have experienced in life have taught you to see the world or react to the world in a certain way. It’s possible to reframe that thinking over time and become a person that is truly healthy and happy.

She has extensive experience in the human service field that has allowed her to become well acquainted with a myriad of struggles and difficulties that all people from every walk of life may go through. She also belongs to associations that help her to gain perspective and stay up to date on strategies and techniques that may help those she works with.

She believes in building a relationship of trust, where all people are comfortable exploring the story that is being told in their minds. Her goal is to enhance and empower individuals to discover strengths and peace within themselves and have the courage to make changes where they see a need. She loves to see where people are in their stories and help them set goals to get to where they want to be; become their best self.

OFFERINGS

Breath-work, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Walk & Talk Coaching, & Mindfulness Skills.

"I’m what some might call a “woo-woo” therapist—deeply attuned to the spiritual and intuitive dimensions of healing—while firmly rooted in the science of what makes therapy effective. At the core of my work is compassionate, regulated presence. With me, you’re not just sitting with a trauma-informed professional, but with a human actively engaged in his own growth, self-awareness, and self-love journey.

I specialize in trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy that integrates EMDR, IFS, Somatic, Mindfulness, and HeartMath. I help clients move from survival patterns into embodied safety, Self-leadership, and secure connection—prioritizing pacing, stabilization, and lasting integration over quick fixes. If you’ve learned to hold it all together on your own, I want you to know you don’t have to anymore. Therapy with me is relational, steady, and deeply attuned. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe, making space for every part of you. When you’re ready to feel more secure in yourself and your relationships, I’d be honored to connect."

Marissa believes that at our core, we all have qualities like compassion, creativity, and wisdom, but life experiences—especially trauma—can create protective patterns that sometimes disconnect us from who we truly are. Her approach to therapy is about helping clients explore these inner dynamics with curiosity and self-compassion, recognizing the parts of themselves that have taken on different roles for survival, and developing the skills to navigate life with more balance and ease.

She integrates mindfulness and practical coping strategies to support clients in building emotional resilience, increasing self-awareness, and improving relationships—both with themselves and others.

With lived experience in relational trauma, anxiety, grief, and parenting, she brings both personal and professional insight to this work. Her goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can reconnect with their inner strengths, regulate emotions effectively, and move toward greater wholeness and self-trust.

Trauma Recovery Specialist & Care Coordinator

Trauma can injure trust in ourselves and others. When abuse happens in relationships, it often leaves you feeling cut off from yourself - your real thoughts, feelings and desires are out of reach. It's a scary and lonely place. Mental health struggles grow when our nervous system has needed to adapt to patterns of control. If you have been there, you're not alone, and there is hope. I love supporting adults and teenagers who need space to understand themselves and rebuild safety in relationships. I work with people who have complex trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, chronic illness, OCD, disability and LGBTQIA+ experiences.

Your nervous system was wise to protect you, and now your mind and body may be burdened by the weight of the past or the future. We can work together to release those burdens. I move with you at a gentle pace. I am here to support you with finding your healing map and digesting what your body needs you to know.

My person-centered approach allows room for you to focus on what is most important to you. We can process your experiences together, and I'll guide you in skills to help you return to your power and authentic sense of self. I'm excited to get to know you and listen to you as you grow in mind-body connection, confidence, and peace.

OFFERINGS

I can support you with self-advocacy, assertiveness, safety planning, wellness planning, conflict skills, Somatic mindfulness, HeartMath, DBT, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Let me know if you need any accommodations to work together.

Gayle Jones
LCSW and Clinical Supervisor

Ecb275d3 de5c 377 b370 f29823ed1054 1
I'm Gayle! As your therapist, it is my goal to see you become a better version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach things about the world that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved life problems. As I always say we "Can't see the forest for the trees!". As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now. I love to be present when my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I assist clients on their journey by teaching grounding and other helpful Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, HeartMath, and when/if needed crisis management skills.

I am a veteran of the United States Airforce, I have 2 adult children, and enjoy snowboarding, sailing, and hikes in the mountains. I have been a master’s prepared social worker for over 10 years with experience working in home hospice care, with over 8 years of this time being serving in multiple roles with the Veterans Health Administration. The last 3 years have been in the direct provision of mental health care services and serving as frontline mental health supervisor.

I believe the psyche is always moving toward wholeness. It is through the body’s innate wisdom, opportunities for creative play, and being empathetically witnessed that one develops the ability to move through pain and discover the unique gems hidden within. My own journey of healing has involved somatic therapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, depth work, sandplay, and community involvement.

As a counselor and healer, I bring these experiences to those I am honored to collaborate with. It is through my own work that I am able to hold an empathetic non-judgemental space where clients can feel connected and safe to embark on their healing journey. Approaches I utilize are person-centered trauma focused care, depth, sandplay, group sand tray, mindfulness techniques, expressive arts, and play therapy. Additionally, I have experience in community outreach, program development, and public speaking.
